Laundry and Dry Cleaning (Domestic)

Refresh™ Laundry offers laundry and dry-cleaning services to the public through our town store, Refresh™ DRY CLEANERS, located at 3 Robinson Road in Queenstown, South Africa.

The store is conveniently located to cater to the needs of our clients living in or passing through Queenstown. We also have a wide customer base from adjacent towns and villages including Sada, Cofimvaba, Cala, Dordrecht, Molteno, Cathcart and the rural settlements surrounding these trading centres.

Because we believe that laundry should not only be clean, but hygienically clean, we only use front loading washing machines. These machines are able to expel soil via the centrifugal force when draining the dirty water, in comparison to top loading machines which redeposit soil back onto the garments as water is drained directly over them using nothing but gravity.

Our staff pride themselves in their work and always provide a service of exceptional quality and efficiency. And, proudly, we are the first dry cleaner in Africa to offer our clients an environmentally friendly dry-cleaning service. Accordingly, we refrain from the use of perchloroethylene, a toxic liquid solvent commonly referred to as ‘PERC’ when cleaning personal garments. By choosing to support Refresh DRY CLEANERS, you are choosing to support the environment too!

Why we decided to phase out PERC for personal garment care:

• PERC is a carcinogen and is in the process of being banned in several countries across Europe and the Americas.
• Prolonged exposure results in profound long-term harm to the human body.
• Exposure to the environment results in the pollution of air and ground water, which has the knock-on effect of being poisonous to animals and birds.
• In a nutshell, PERC is not entirely safe for us to work with and is not environmentally friendly.

Laundry (Commercial)

Refresh™ Laundry offers commercial laundry services through Queens Launderers, located at 7 Dugmore Street in Queenstown, South Africa.

Established in 1941, Queens Launderers comes from humble beginnings of hand washing and drying on traditional ‘washing lines’. Today, we have evolved into a modern, medium-capacity factory and our areas of service extend as far as Mthatha, Bhisho and East London.

We cater for a wide variety of clients, including: 

• Hotels, bed &breakfasts and guesthouses
• Hospitals, clinics and doctors’ rooms
• Factories, workshops and retail stores (cleaning protective garments and corporate wear)
• Factories (degreasing of industrial protective gloves and cleaning rags)
• School hostels and military and police barracks

As with Refresh™ DRY CLEANERS, we proudly promote the use of front loading commercial washing machines to ensure that all finished products are as clean and hygienic as possible.

Laundry and dry-cleaning Equipment Maintenance and Repairs

In addition to supplying our clients with energy-efficient commercial machines, we also offer a comprehensive maintenance and repair service. This service is applicable for most brands of laundry and dry-cleaning equipment and in most parts of South Africa.

Our skilled maintenance and repair technicians are able to provide solutions for a number of issues, including:

• Simple preventative maintenance
• Replacement of mechanical components such as bearings, seals and shock absorbers
